Wallet
The Wallet is your balance of purchased AI credits — the credits you buy on top of what your plan includes. Buying an AI credit pack is what tops up the Wallet. Knock Knock App draws from it for telephony — renting phone numbers and paying for calls — and as a backup for AI usage when your plan's included credits run out.
Your plan's included AI credits are AI-only — they never pay for telephony. Phone numbers and calls are funded solely from the Wallet (purchased credits). See AI Credits Usage for how plan credits work.
Your Wallet Balance
The Wallet holds your purchased credits, where 1 credit = $0.01. Unlike plan credits, purchased credits don't reset with your billing cycle — they stay in the Wallet until spent. Your balance appears as a Wallet pill in the main sidebar, so you can always see how much you have left. Click the pill to top up.
When your balance gets low, the Wallet pill turns amber — a visual nudge to top up before anything gets interrupted.
Wallet Transactions
To review where your credits are going, open the Wallet transactions page under Packages & Billing. Every movement in and out of your Wallet is listed with these columns:
- When — the date and time of the transaction
- Description — what the transaction was for
- Amount — credits added or deducted
- Balance — your Wallet balance after the transaction
You can filter the list by type:
| Filter | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| All types | Every wallet transaction |
| Top-ups | Credits you added manually |
| Auto-recharge | Credits added automatically when your balance ran low |
| Number rental | Monthly rent charged for phone numbers |
| Calls | Per-call charges |
How Phone Numbers Are Billed
Phone numbers you buy inside the app (see Call Agent) are billed from your Wallet:
- The first month is charged at the moment of purchase.
- After that, rent is charged monthly from the Wallet on the number's billing anniversary.
What Happens When the Wallet Runs Dry
If your Wallet cannot cover a number's monthly rent:
- Warning emails — you receive reminders to top up, around day 3 and day 6.
- Suspension — the number is suspended. Rent stops accruing while the number is suspended.
- Incoming calls declined — while your balance is empty, incoming calls to app-purchased numbers are declined, and callers hear that the number is temporarily unavailable.
- Release — after roughly 7 days, a suspended number is released and is no longer yours.
Topping up in time un-suspends the number automatically — no support ticket needed.
Only numbers purchased through the app can be suspended or released. Numbers you brought yourself — connected from your own telephony account — are never suspended or released by the Wallet.
Agency-Managed Accounts
If your account is managed by an agency, the Wallet works the same as for any other account. You always see the Wallet, you can spend from it — buying phone numbers and making calls — and you can top it up yourself with your own card.
For agency-managed accounts, the Packages area shows three tabs: Wallet, Add-ons, and Payment Methods. Add a card under Payment Methods to top up and buy add-ons — you don't need to go through your agency. Plan and subscription changes, however, remain with the agency.
