Call Preferences
Call preferences let you control how phone and video calls behave in Knock Knock App. You can set up call forwarding, customize your call background, configure voicemail, and manage call recording.
To access call preferences, go to Settings in the sidebar and select Call Preferences.
Phone Call Forwarding
Call forwarding lets you receive calls on your personal phone when you are away from the platform. This way, you never miss an important call from a visitor or lead.
To enable call forwarding:
- Go to Call Preferences.
- Find the Call Forwarding section.
- Toggle call forwarding on.
- Enter the phone number you want calls forwarded to.
- Click Save to apply.
Make sure your phone number is correct before enabling forwarding. You can update your phone number in your Account Settings as well.
When call forwarding is active, incoming calls will ring on your device. If you do not answer, the call will follow your voicemail settings.
Call forwarding uses your saved phone number. If you have not added a phone number to your account, you will be prompted to add one before enabling this feature.
Call Background Images
You can customize the background that appears during video calls. This is useful for maintaining a professional appearance regardless of your physical environment.
To set a call background:
- Go to Call Preferences.
- Find the Background Images section.
- Choose from the available preset backgrounds, or upload your own image.
- Your selection will be applied to all future calls.
To remove a custom background, select the None option to use your actual camera feed.
Voicemail Settings
Voicemail captures messages from visitors when you are unavailable or outside your working hours.
To configure voicemail:
- Go to Call Preferences.
- Find the Voicemail section.
- Toggle voicemail on or off.
- If enabled, customize your voicemail greeting or use the default.
- Click Save to apply.
When a visitor leaves a voicemail, you will receive a notification (based on your notification preferences) so you can follow up promptly.
Call Recording Preferences
Call recording lets you save calls for training, quality assurance, or future reference.
To manage call recording:
- Go to Call Preferences.
- Find the Call Recording section.
- Toggle recording on or off.
- Click Save to apply.
Depending on your region, you may be legally required to inform callers that the call is being recorded. Make sure you understand and comply with your local recording consent laws before enabling this feature.
When recording is enabled, all calls will be saved and accessible from the Sessions section of the platform.
