Product Recommendations

If your business sells products online, Knock Knock App can display product recommendations directly in the widget. Visitors see relevant products during conversations, making it easy to browse and buy without leaving the chat.

Product recommendations appear as a horizontal slider carousel inside the chat window. The visitor can swipe or scroll through the products to browse what is available.

Each product in the carousel is displayed as a product card containing:

  • Product image — a photo of the item
  • Product name — the title of the product
  • Price — the current price (including sale prices if applicable)
  • Link — a button or tap area that opens the product page in a new tab

The carousel is visually distinct from regular chat messages, so visitors can easily spot product recommendations in the conversation.

Product carousels work best when they are contextual. For example, if a visitor asks "Do you have running shoes?" and the AI responds with a carousel of running shoes, the experience feels helpful rather than salesy.

When Products Are Shown

Product recommendations can appear in several situations:

During Live Chat

Your AI agent or a human team member can send product carousels during a chat conversation. This typically happens when:

  • A visitor asks about a specific product or category
  • The AI recommends products based on the conversation
  • An agent manually sends a product to help the visitor

During AI Voice Calls

When a visitor is on an AI voice call and discusses products, the AI can display product cards on screen. The visitor sees the products visually while continuing to talk with the AI. This creates a rich, multi-modal experience where voice and visuals work together.

Where Products Come From

The products displayed in the widget are pulled from your existing e-commerce catalog:

The integration keeps your product data up to date automatically. When you update a product in your store, the changes are reflected in the widget.

Product recommendations require an active e-commerce integration. If your business does not sell products online, this feature will not appear to your visitors.

Visitor Interaction

When a visitor sees a product carousel, they can:

  1. Scroll through the products by swiping left or right (or using arrow buttons on desktop)
  2. View details — each card shows the key information at a glance
  3. Click through — tapping a product card opens the full product page on your website in a new tab
  4. Continue the conversation — the chat or call continues normally after viewing products

Product carousels do not interrupt the conversation. They appear inline as part of the chat flow, and the visitor can engage with them or ignore them as they choose.
